How do you learn more about the future of healthcare technologies?

Is the future of healthcare digital? Is the future of healthcare digital?

What have we learned about healthcare from this current pandemic? Many things have changed over the past 18 months. Only two things are for certain in life; death and taxes! How these two converge is transforming the future of healthcare forever.

The pandemic has changed our world forever. I know what many of you are thinking, we will return to normal in a not to distant future. I’m not certain that is true because over the past 18 months we have seen seismic shifts in a number of key technologies that help us see and predict the future. Both hard and soft trends are being transformed by this recent pandemic.

I’ve been asked to discuss the future of healthcare for one of my business partners, Techment.  They are hosting an event that discusses the future of medical organizations with several other thought leaders. Sign up here

What is your view on the future of healthcare?

Many of us have various views on healthcare’s future, and our role in it. The speakers at the Techment webinar have been involved in healthcare for twenty years plus years. Several have been through pandemic scenarios in their past. They are from all over the world. All have deep backgrounds in emerging technologies.

To get an idea of their thinking, get a free copy of Techment’s special report called Digital Acceleration in Healthcare: 12 Mega-Trends Shaping its Transformation.

I’ve been asked to talk about the human side of digital transformation. I focus on innovation, digital leadership, and rural and remote healthcare opportunities.

The other panelists have significant experience in healthcare technologies and digital transformation.  92% of providers of various healthcare solutions are promoting the use of digitization for healthcare facilities.

Would you like to learn about new technology trends?

I’ve read the meeting’s agenda, if you want to see the possibilities you should register for the event here

If you’re over 40 and want to ride the next technology wave, this provides a fantastic opportunity for career growth and personal development. If you have children or grandchildren, healthcare is going to provide a brighter future for them and future generations. Many will work in medical technologies and related fields.

When you think of healthcare what do you think of? I bet its about the quality of the care, how its provided, and by whom. Billions of dollars have been invested to unravel the mysteries of healthcare and we are just at the tip of the iceberg.

How big is healthcare anyway?

Here are several facts that may transform the way you look at the healthcare industry forever:

  • The global health industry was worth $8.45 trillion in 2018.
  • Global healthcare spending could reach over $10 trillion by 2022.
  • The US has the greatest healthcare spending, sitting at $10,224 per capita.
  • The US spends twice what other countries do on healthcare.
  • There are 784,626 companies in the US healthcare sector.

Did I get your attention? I hope so. When a client sent me a note, she called it the healthcare imperative. Are you onboard? You can guess what I said.

Does healthcare impact your life?

For the past 5 months I been living in hospitals. From open heart surgery to brain surgery to hospice. I’ve accumulated hundreds of hours in hospitals. I’m a frequent flyer, my relatives have been in hospitals in Michigan so much they are considering naming a wing after them.

My wife and friends missed me so much they decided to have their own major surgeries and extended  hospital stays. Several lives and families were changed by emerging medical technologies. At one point I spent 16 weeks in a row providing blood, not donating. I would liked to keep it, given a choice. I’m all in for better health! Luckily, I’m healthy now as well.

Join me at the discussion on May 13

Why such a long introduction to invite you to a free program I’m participating in? Because I believe this is the next big change in our society and you should be involved!

I started working in Digital Health over 25 years ago leading teams who developed a wide range specialty applications and technologies. I helped IBM launch their Watson Moonshot and various Medical Internet of Things products and services.

New products and services are transforming lives

My medical clients  are continuing to bring new products and services to market. The Apple medical apps and hardware supporting Nurse Practitioners, onsite 3D printers to create new knees and dental bridges. Finally, an iPhone app that keeps track of my nonexistent sleep patterns and mental health!

If you can conceive it, someone is developing it for emerging healthcare markets. So many fortunes created and increased over the past year. You can learn more about individuals who are seizing new opportunities. Spoiler alert: the pay is good for these entrepreneurs who are supporting emerging healthcare markets and trends.

In my past I’ve worked with a number of successful healthcare systems including The Cleveland Clinic, Ohio Health, and University Hospitals. I’ve worked in specialty Cardiovascular consulting practices and several smaller physician practices.
